Sleying the reed is time-consuming and becomes unnecessarily tiring when you have to hold the heavy reed flat with one hand while threading with the other. The LoftyFiber Sley Assist solves this: it automatically holds the reed in a flat position so you can work in an upright, ergonomically comfortable posture with both hands free for sleying.
