The Leclerc Dorothy is a table loom made from Canadian maple, widely used as a sampler, school, and workshop loom around the world. The 4-shaft model folds down to just 13 x 9 x 20 cm, making it an ideal travel companion. The shafts are operated via colour-coded side levers: different lengths and colours help you find the right lever quickly. Starting with 4 shafts, you can later expand the Dorothy 40 cm to 8 or 12 shafts by purchasing an additional section, without replacing the loom.
The Dorothy V2 with a 60 cm weaving width is the larger version, suited for weavers who need more width or plan to move to a full-size floor loom later. With an optional treadle stand (6 treadles), it converts into a floor loom.

Frequently asked questions
Which model is right for beginners?
The Dorothy 40 cm with 4 shafts is a great starting point: light, compact, and expandable later. If you need more weaving width or plan to switch to a floor loom, go straight for the Dorothy V2 with 60 cm.
Can I take the Dorothy to workshops?
The 4-shaft model (40 cm) weighs just 7 kg and folds down to approx. 33 x 23 x 50 cm. It fits in most car boots and is easy to bring to weaving classes.
Can the Dorothy be used with a table or stand?
Yes. For the Dorothy 40 cm there is an optional folding table (6312-2000) that raises it to 64 cm height and lets you use a normal chair. The Dorothy V2 (60 cm) can be converted to a full floor loom with a 6-treadle stand.
