The brand new Siru Loom

Be enchanted by the latest innovation in the world of weaving: the Siru loom from Glimakra. With a weaving width of 40 cm or 60 cm and made in Finland and Sweden, this loom combines Finnish craftsmanship with Scandinavian design through the creative collaboration with the company Toika.

The Siru stands out with its unique design, which is specifically tailored to the weaver's comfort. The adjustable, raised warp beam is not only a practical addition, but a statement for ergonomic weaving. You won't find any plastic parts on the Siru - only wood or metal. This masterpiece of craftsmanship impresses with its robustness and ergonomic shape, which makes weaving a real pleasure.

You can easily weave by holding the front on your lap and the back leaning against the edge of a table, or on a tabletop (see video).

A second reed holder is already installed. The loom is foldable for easy transport.

Ungewöhnliches Design, aber klasse Webstuhl

Ich war zuerst skeptisch, aufgrund des ungewöhnlichen Designs. Meine Kursleiterin hatte mir aber den Siru als Empfehlung ausgesprochen, da der zweite Webkamm-Halter schon inkludiert ist und der Webrahmen sich in wenigen Sekunden einklappen lässt. Klarer Vorteil gegenüber dem Emilia Webrahmen.

Da ich mit Kindern arbeiten möchte, sind die 40cm eine perfekte Webbreite. Bei dem Emilia oder Susanna wäre die Webbreite wohl zu breit gewesen, für kleine Kinderarme.

Wie wie erwartet

Habe mich zwischen dem Siru von Glimakra und dem Sample von Ashford für den Siru entschieden und bin damit sehr zufrieden. Danke

Auf Empfehlung gekauft

Fotos, Beschreibungen und die Beratung zum Siru Webstuhl waren hier die besten, die ich finden konnte. Ich habe mich bei einigen Anbietern umgesehen, aber die meisten hatten nur eine sehr knappe Beschreibung, aus der man nicht schlau wird. Oftmals auch nur auf Englisch. Generell scheint der Siru noch ein Geheimtipp zu sein. Für mich auf jeden Fall eine gute Entscheidung. Dass man den Webrahmen überall einklemmen kann und somit keinen Ständer braucht, finde ich grandios. Grüße aus Eberswalde! Claudi
