Warping mill or warping tree

Due to back pain, I replaced my old warping board with an Ashford warping mill. The setup was simple. I then read several books, but each one describes a different method for warping the chain. One book said that you should ALWAYS turn the mill counterclockwise. When I reach the end of the chain, do I turn the mill back to the right or not? Do I use both crosshairs? I looked it up online, but I'm still unsure.
