All-rounder: Kromski Harp Forte Weaving Frame

The handmade Harp Forte Rigid Heddle Loom impresses with its innovative design and comprehensive functionality.

Outstanding features of the Harfe Forte are the innovative locking wheels and locking mechanisms made of metal, which are additionally reinforced by magnets. In addition, the side locking allows the frame to be folded up and transported (even with a weaving project stretched out!).

On the back of the frame there is an integrated warping frame, similar to the Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom. Alternatively, a winding rod and clamp for direct warping are also included, allowing the weaver to choose between warping methods at no additional cost.

The delivery also includes table clamps that securely fix the loom to the table. Basically, everything you need to start weaving straight away is included in the delivery. The only thing missing is the weaving yarn.

Unlike Ashford's loom models, no plastic is used here. The loom is handcrafted in Europe from European alder wood and offers an incomparably beautiful aesthetic.

Optionally, the Forte harp can be mounted on a stand so it can stand freely. A matching carrying bag is also available as an option.

The Forte harp still comes with a 5-year warranty after purchase.

Pünktlich zu Weihnachten

Ich habe recht kurzfristig vor Weihnachten bestellt und ausdrücklich den Wunsch geäußert, dass ich in unserer Gegend nur DHL-Sendungen gut empfangen kann. Obwohl Berliner Webstühle sonst wohl einen anderen Anbieter nutzt, hat man mir zuliebe das Paket per DHL verschickt. So einen Service findet man heutzutage nicht überall. Vielen Dank!

Kromski Harfe vs. Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom

Ich habe mich vor ein paar Monaten zwischen dem Kromski Harfe und einem Ashford Rigid Heddle entscheiden müssen und bin am Ende beim Kromski gelandet. Beide haben ihre Vor- und Nachteile, und es kommt wirklich darauf an, was man sucht. Da sich diese Frage sicherlich viele Stellen, möchte ich hier kurz meine Erfahrung teilen, da ich beide Webrahmen in der Hand hielt. Ich habe nach einem Modell mit 60 cm Webbreite gesucht:

Der Kromski Harfe ist einfach schön. Das Holz ist wirklich edel, und dass er zusammenklappbar ist, war für mich ein großer Pluspunkt, weil ich ihn auch mal mitnehmen wollte. Dazu kommt, dass er direkt als Schärrahmen genutzt werden kann – super praktisch! Aber ja, er hat auch seine Schwächen. Wenn man mit sehr hoher Kettspannung arbeitet, kann es sein, dass er sich leicht verbiegt, vor allem bei breiteren Modellen. Für „normale“ Projekte hat mich das aber nicht gestört.

Der Ashford hingegen ist ein Arbeitstier. Robust, gut verarbeitet, und ich hatte das Gefühl, dass es mehr Zubehör und Unterstützung gibt, sei es durch die Community oder Ersatzteile. Auch hier gibt es die Möglichkeit, den Rahmen als Schrrahmen zu nutzen, aber man muss noch Schärstifte extra bestellen. Ein kleiner Nachteil ist, dass er nicht klappbar ist, was den Transport schwieriger macht. Und ja, die oft kritisierten Kunststoffräder bei Ashford trifft man auch hier an.

Abschlißende Gedanken: Wenn man hin und wieder unterwegs ist, ist der Kromski die bessere Wahl. Für jemanden, der hauptsächlich daheim webt und Wert auf eine große Community (online!) legt, würde ich eher zum Ashford raten. Ich mag meinen Kromski sehr und stelle am Ende fest, das die Webrahmen sich sehr ähnlich sind.

Also, beide super – die Unterschiede liegen im Detail!
